App Help

How can we help?

Everything you need to know about using the Momentum app.

What is Momentum?

Momentum is a lifestyle platform that helps you build better daily habits. Track steps, water, sleep, calories, and meals. Join challenges, earn achievements, read articles, and get personalized guidance from Mo — your AI lifestyle coach. Your company, community, or club provides access.

How do I create an account?

Momentum accounts are created through your organization. If your employer, apartment community, or club has partnered with Momentum, you'll receive an invite with a company code. Download the app, tap Register, and enter your code to get started.

What is a company code?

A company code is provided by your employer or community. Enter it during registration to join your organization's group. This connects you to your community's articles, challenges, and leaderboard.

How do I navigate the app?

The bottom navigation bar takes you to the main sections. The home screen shows your daily snapshot with quick-action buttons for common tasks like logging food, checking steps, or reading articles. Tap any metric card to go directly to that tracking page.

How do I log steps?

Go to the Steps page from the home screen. You can add steps manually using the + button, enter the number, and they'll be added to your daily total. You can also edit or delete entries from the timeline below. If you've connected Apple Health, steps sync automatically.

How do I log water?

Go to the Water page from the home screen. Use the slider or the + and − buttons to add glasses of water. Each glass counts as one serving. Your daily goal is shown at the top.

How do I log sleep?

Go to the Sleep page from the home screen. Enter how many hours and minutes you slept. Your sleep is tracked in minutes and shown as hours on your dashboard.

How do I track calories?

Go to the Calories page from the home screen. You can log calories eaten (calories in) and calories burned separately. The page shows your net calories, macros breakdown (protein, carbs, fat), and a 7-day chart. You can also log food directly from the Food Log section.

How do I log food?

From the Calories page, add food to your daily log. Foods are grouped by meal — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack. You can search your saved foods in My Foods, or create a new food entry with full nutrition info.

Can I scan food to get nutrition info?

Yes. On the Add Food page, you can take a photo of your food and the app will analyze it to estimate the nutrition facts. You can also type a food name and get nutrition data. Both use AI to look up the information for you.

How do I log an activity or workout?

Go to the Activities section to log workouts and exercises. Choose from the activity catalog, set your duration and intensity, and it will calculate calories burned and points earned. Activities show up in your daily timeline.

Who is Mo?

Mo is your AI lifestyle coach built into the app. Mo provides personalized nudges, tips, and motivation to help you stay consistent. Ask Mo about your progress, get meal suggestions, or just get a daily boost. Mo knows your activity, goals, and history — and is available 24/7.

What is My Foods?

My Foods is your personal food database. Any food you create or save goes here. You can mark favorites with a star for quick access, search and filter your foods, and quickly add them to your daily food log for any meal.

How does the Meal Planner work?

The Meal Planner is a chat-style tool that builds a personalized meal plan for you. Tell it your preferences, dietary needs, budget, or goals and it will create a full plan. You can save the plan and even generate a grocery list from it.

How does the Grocery List work?

The Grocery List is built from your saved meal plans. It organizes items by category and lets you check things off as you shop. It works offline too, so you can use it in the store without internet.

How do challenges work?

Challenges are goals you can join with a set timeframe. They might be step challenges, water challenges, or other activities. Join a challenge, track your progress, and earn points when you complete it. Some challenges are created by Momentum, others by your organization.

What are achievements?

Achievements are badges you earn for hitting milestones and keeping streaks — like logging steps for 7 days in a row or reaching a lifetime step goal. They come with bonus points. Keep logging consistently to unlock more.

How do points and Momentum Credits work?

You earn points by logging daily activities — steps, water, sleep, and more. Completing challenges and achievements earns bonus points. Momentum Credits reward consistency — log any activity on a given day and you earn a credit. Credits keep things fair because everyone can earn them equally, regardless of fitness level.

What are Journey Days?

Journey Days count every day since you first started using Momentum. Unlike streaks, they never go backwards. It's about celebrating that you're on the journey — not punishing you for missing a day.

How does the leaderboard work?

The leaderboard ranks users by points earned from daily activities and challenges. It resets periodically so everyone gets a fresh start. Keep logging your steps, water, and sleep consistently to climb the rankings.

Where can I read articles?

Tap Read from the home screen or go to the Articles section. You'll find lifestyle articles, tips, and guides. Your company may also publish articles just for your community. New articles are featured on your home screen.

What are modules?

Modules are short learning lessons on lifestyle topics. Each module has sections to read through and a quiz at the end. Completing a module earns you points. They're a great way to learn at your own pace.

How do I see events?

Check the Events page to see upcoming community activities and challenges. Some events are specific to your organization.

How do I update my profile?

Go to your Profile page and tap Edit. You can update your name, email, birthday, weight, height, and other info. Don't forget to tap Save when you're done.

How do I change my daily goals?

Your daily goals for steps, water, sleep, and calories can be updated in your Profile settings. These goals appear on your dashboard and are used to track your daily progress.

How do I change my password?

Go to your Profile page and tap Edit. Scroll down to the password section where you can enter a new password. If you're locked out, use the "Forgot Password" link on the login screen to reset it via email.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your personal data is private to you. We do not sell your data to third parties. Health data from Apple HealthKit is used only to provide app features and is never shared with advertisers. Only aggregated, anonymized metrics are visible to your organization's admin. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?

To request account deletion, email support@momentum231.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will process your request and permanently delete your data within 30 days.

How do I connect Apple Health?

Open the Momentum app on your iPhone. Go to your Profile and look for the Apple Health connection option. Tap to enable it and allow Momentum to read your health data. Once connected, your steps, sleep, and other data from Apple Health will automatically sync into Momentum. You can also manage permissions in your iPhone Settings under Privacy & Security → Health → Momentum.

Why isn't my data showing up?

Make sure you saved the entry after logging it. Try refreshing the page or closing and reopening the app. If you're on a slow connection, it may take a moment to sync. Your data is saved to the server, so it won't be lost.

Does the app work offline?

Some features like the Grocery List work offline. Most tracking features need an internet connection to save your data to the server. If you lose connection, try again when you're back online.

The app feels slow or isn't loading.

Try closing and reopening the app. Make sure you're on a stable internet connection. If you're using the web version, try clearing your browser cache. If the problem persists, email us at support@momentum231.com.

I'm not receiving the password reset email.
